Why not have Nicko's Diner for Best Cheap Eats and Taco Bus for Spanish food instead? And don't forget Grass Root (Seminole Heights) for Vegetarian. Just a suggestion.
Grass Root is in Tp Hts technically.
I'd put my vote for auto repair as Richards on Hills.
best kept secret= produce market on hills.

HELP
O The market on Hillsborough Ave,
I am new to the market and I so love it.
Vote by me.
FOR THE BIGGEST WASTE OF TAX MONEY, EITHER CURTIS LANE OR CODE ENFORCEMENT!
I was told by a friend of mine in the industry that it is rigged according to who advertises in the Weekly Planet. Voting doesn't make a difference.
FYI....Taco Bus is Mexican, not Spanish. If you live in Tampa you should know the difference. The Columbia is an example of Spanish food.
How about Alpine Liquors for bad business neighbor. While every is focused on illegal driveways, maybe there should be a focus on the "Great Blight of Broad Street"
Hell, pawn shops and car lots are better neighbors!
Rick F. What is the problem with Alpine? I think they are the oldest business in SH Area.
Alpine Liquors is our prefered store for most alcoholic beverages. As far as liquor stores go, it seems to be clean and well-managed. I haven't heard any neighbors complaining, either.
I support them every chance (party?) I get.
Alpine picks up their trash and has no barb wire fences - Rick what are we missing?
Where do you all think has better prices? Party or Alpine. I'm betting the problem people have with Alpine is some of the clientel.
Having talked to immediate neighbors. They don't think they are such great neighbors. Whether it is the residential lot that they try to use as overflow parking or the trash or the lighting. Or the general appearance.
I don't live near there. I have shopped there twice. In principle I would try to shop elsewhere because of the feedback from immediate property owners.
So you really don't know anything about it. Hmm nice.
I know people that live in the immediate area and I don't recall any negative comments from them regarding Alpine - ON THE OTHER HAND - the motorcycle sales @ Robson and Nebraska is quite the opposite - trash, packing peanuts blowing throughout the neighborhood - inoperable vehicles and people living in the RV parked out front for a long time with no sewer connections - now isn't that what a neighborhood business is all about. The owner has also been arrested for ID theft and chop shop issues.
Well I'm not going to get in a pissing contest of who has spoken to someone living closest to Alpine.
But does the fact that you know someone living near the Alpine invalidate the feelings of a immediate neighbor of that business???
Having been in Seminole Heights for more than a dozen years. And in the past having walked many of the surrounding streets to try to build OSHNA's membership on the east side of 275 in the 90's. I have heard the complaints for a long time.
I have lived behind or down the street from crappy business neighbors myself. Yet other neighbors who didn't have to deal with the impact of the inconsiderate businesses didn't see a problem.
Dear god just shut up all ready.
Alpine cleans their lots, they keep it lit and their prices are great as is their selection. Is it gorgeous? Not! Does it draw strange people? YES! I live one block from the Alpine. I don't have a problem with them but I do have a problem with some of their customers. Cycle Masters at Robson & Nebraska is my vote for OSH's worst business. Dirty, illegal, offering beers to their customers just before they "test drive" the cycles. Noisy, inoperable vehicles, people living in the parking lot with the owner's permission. I could go on all day. Alpine, in comparison, is wonderful.
