As seen on Bay News 9

I'm always pleased to see anything positive about Seminole Heights on the news. Actually, I've seen the Front Porch take some hits here on the blog (slow service, mediocre food, etc.), but my husband and I frequent there and have always had a good experience.

As a person who has eaten at the Front Porch since it opened it's doors I too have had several good experiences there. Problem is you just never know! Service is good and the food is not, food is good and the service is non existent, or both are below average, or hey like I said, sometimes it is great!
Hard to count on and keeps me from taking guests there.

I wish them luck and hope it begins to get consistent,,,,,,it is a wonderful location and could be so great!!

1. Why is the bay news 9 food guy wearing a q105 t-shirt with a jacket over it? he looks like a crack head
2. Why won't the front porch fix their stupid sign?

in agreement on both of the above... bay news 9 is a joke.

They don't care about the sign, just like they don't care about much else. Kind of a lazy attitude towards the decor, which over time has included dead plants,an occassional beer can airplane, greasy tables, and broken chairs.

Where do you think we are...SOK?

Well we're not in Key West, that's for sure! Though their prices are closer to that than to a neighborhood hang out. We used to take guests there but the inconsistent service and food and the ever-increasing prices have kept us away lately.

waaaaahhhhhhh....seminole heights residents strike again!!!!

I don't think the residents have any fault here. For heaven's sakes, when you spend your money is it only those in SH that expect a value for the expenditure? I don't think so. I also don't think people in SH should just settle.

This neighborhood is hungry for good consistent service and food in a friendly atmosphere. As places open that give that, they will do well and those that do not will be come memories.

The sign which was on TV tells the whole story. Food....made your way, or THE WAY WE WANT TO COOK IT! This "we will do it like we want to, regardless of what the customer wants" attitude goes right along with the often expressed "I don't need the neighborhood as customers" approach.

It is such a shame because some of us have gone there all along, since they opened, struggling with each new wait staff member, and each new change to the menu. We have ordered menu staples only to find they taste different each time. Sometimes good, sometimes not. We were still going for the months and months the bar area was under construction, ignoring the ceiling matter which occassionally landed on us and the grime and grunge on the front door.We stayed with it, ever hopeful until we were tired of being slapped in the face for the effort.

Where did they get the extra's to play the roll of customers for this ad? How much did they pay Baynews 9 for this crap?

The food is on par with a 1960's TV dinner when it is actually cooked. The prices are on par with much nicer places that we each a regularly.

Patrick is of course tone-deaf to any suggestions. If they lost their ability to sell alcohol they would fold in a month.

We've been going since we moved to the 'hood. I agree, a little pricey for a 'hood joint but we like it. Wouldn't go when we had theater tickets burnig a hole in our pocket but on a night I don't want to cook and don't want to leave S. H. AND have a nice glass of wine with dinner--we're there. Patrick always roams the tables and if vey friendly. I think they are making strides. Some of my S. Tamoa friends have come up after the News 9 airing and had good reviews. I love this neighborhood and I hope it THRIVES!

We've given the Front Porch plenty of chances, and each time it disappoints-- in both food AND service. I say gut the place, bring in a new staff and owners and give us the good food they CLAIM to have. At least we have Cappy's now!

In 20 or so visits since moving to SESH last year. I have NEVER had bad food and only once bad service. i wish the sign were fixed but the business is a work in progress like our homes. I don't want Carraba's(where I have had far worse experiences). I like the place, want it to thrive, love the food, think the prices are very reasonable and will continue to be a regular. It seems almsot impossible that the person NEVER had a good meal!

Hey, I saw some RATS in the bar area! Not the furry ones, the ones with the long hair and ratical ideas!

viva la ratvolution!

I belive they could do alot with the place.
Like keep up the outer area better

Its a wonderful building. As far as service and bad food I have no idea
Eventually I will walk down there and eat .

He was in violation of health code during that long period when the ceiling was ripped open. Didn't have permits either.

For anyone that has tore open an old wall in SH, you know what comes out, right? All sorts of stuff you write off as "dirt" or "dust" but started its life as some critter's meal.

My guess is the price increases were to cover the fines.
