Gina Vivinetto benefit

I believe in supporting artists and I liked Gina's writings. So I am blogging this.

An email via Sherry King:

"Hello there,
I know I have spoken to a few of you about this already, so please bear with me.

This is one of those unbearable pleas for help for one of the lovely people in our lives who have enriched so many of us in the art and music community.

Gina Vivinetto, former Pop Music critic for the St. Petersburg Times and owner of Bombshell Gallery, a great venue for both emerging artists and musicians, is having a hard time financially. Earlier this year she had three major surgeries followed by complications due to infection and spent 50 days in the hospital six in the Emergency Room. After that, to add insult to injury, Gina was forced to resign (or fired, depending on your perspective) from the St. Petersburg Times after 16 years of service. Now her co-payments alone are devastating since she was too sick to work all year and has no income. In addition to the increasing medical expenses and sizeable costs incurred to keep Bombshell Gallery operating, there are also Ginas personal bills that she alone must pay for.

She needs our help now and we are holding a benefit for her.

VIVA LA GINA: a benefit for Gina Vivinetto
Saturday, October 14th at Bombshell Gallery

We need ART, MUSIC, CDs, TEE SHIRTS, POSTERS, GIFT CERTIFICATES, anything that you can donate to the raffle would be great! So check those boxes in your closet and donate a copy or two of your bands newest, oldest, or in betweenest opus.

And if you know of anyone else that would be willing to donate to this effort, please don't hesitate to spread the word.

I will do whatever I can to make it easy for you to get your donations to me, so please do what you can.

If you don't have anything to donate at this time, don't worry, you can always buy raffle tickets

Thank you so much,
Stacy

Check out http://eqfl.org/issues/votersguide.php and select "Hillsborough." Mr. White didn't even see fit to respond to Equality Florida's survey, despite the fact taht he wants to represent Seminole Heights and Tampa Heights, areas with a strong gay population. Chloe Coney, on the other hand, did respond and she understands the community that she desires to represent.

Kevin White has proven himself to be a corrupt man with the suit scandal. How many other acts of corruption did he get away with while a member of City Council. Make your voice heard tomorrow: vote against corruption and vote against those who are not for equality for everyone.
