Assault on Dog.....Part II

Email update from Glen. (yesterday)

This morning as I was jogging with my abused and recovering dog I told a neighbor dog owner of the back yard invasion and beating. She told me that on that morning she saw a dog who looked like Chelsea trying to cross Nebraska. A car screeched but still hit her. Since my address is 901 there is only a parking lot between my yard and the corner. She may have run back home and he helped her get back in through the gate. In doing so he got her blood on him and his keys which he dropped.

I had hunted Friday for signs of escape but missed one because tonight she got out again and met me on the porch.

This story has a true silver lining. Instead of thinking there is another dirtbag creep burglar in the area.....there may very well be a good samaritan. This explains the increased nervousness she displays when we jog. WOW!

I had to share this version of an event I will not ever really know the details of.

I am glad to hear that this was not sinister as previously thought. I am sure that she probably squeezed herself through an unimaginably small space in the fence and got out into the road. She may have also climbed over the fence. Dogs are capable of doing all types of things that we are not aware of when we are not around. I am certainly happy to know that you have a vigilant neighbor.

As a dog owner this makes me feel better regarding ill intentioned people, although I still feel bad for your dog that now she may have been hit. I worry about my dogs getting out and into trouble. I hope your dog is doing better which sounds like the case. Thanks for the update...

I am just happy to hear that it was a possible 'dogscape' event instead of a cruel individual...and not to mention possibly a good samaritan out there with bloody appendages.
