What's Up With Nebraska?

This was the original Seminole Heights blog with commentary about life in and around the urban neighborhood of Seminole Heights in Tampa, Florida. Musings about other topics as my mood permits. The blog is essentially inactive since I moved to Lutz. Go to The Official Unofficial Seminole Heights Blog - www.seminoleheightsblog.com for active content.

"The city and the FDOT plan to reduce the road from four lanes to two, with a center turn lane."
If thats not bat shit crazy I don't know what is. Imagine Rush hour traffic leaving downtown.
GRAVEL I meant GRAVEL, but I cap'd the R on rush casue I love Geddy Lee
The Heights, Central Park, the new development in West Tampa...
I hope these projects don't push all the crackheads and hoes north to SH.
Seminole Heights better tackle some of its problems before it becomes an afterthought and loses the momentum generated in the past decade.
One of the reasons this is being done is to provide turn lanes so traffic does not come to a complete stop while you sit at a light or behind someone trying to get home, waiting for ever till you can turn. It is also to provide bike paths and bus pull offs,,,,,,,,all will make traffic better AND will encourage businesses along the corridor instead of simply being a freaking highway. Rush hour can get on the darn interstate!!!!!!!!!!! Unless their destination is the heights!!
Gee, can they also restore the street brick under Nebraska even if they only get used for crosswalks. If this is not brought to the city's attention and bricks that are removed the city will salvage for some South Tampa neighborhood.
The first thing they should tackle is the turn light at Central/hillsborough at peak times, you will sit thru 3-5 cycles to turn south onto Central.
Wow.so how much of Nebraska will see all this wonderful "renewal"
fundage.
Will the Hooferhookers have to relocate to Carrollwood or New Tampa and what about the cost for their new up scale clothing for new cliental?
Is the City of Iorial going to put that up for them too?
I for one.will belive it when I see it happening.
Bricks, or no bricks, the city has nothing to do with any of these roads. This is FDOT.
I am sick and tired of hearing that the City of Tampa has nothing to do with Nebraska and Florida. This is simply NOT TRUE!! The city advocates and participates at some level on all of the road projects that go on within the City's limits.
I agree, you can not convince me that Miss Iorio can't make calls, demand service from FDOT. If you drive down Nebraska, or Kennedy, you risk losing your wheels and tires. They are both an embarassment to this city. Shame on you Pam. We have a beautiful river! Just not safe roads to get there.
oK OK new at this stuff
but I have one question?
Why is all this pam O's fault?
why is it her fault we do not have a way to get there to river?
she isnt responsible for the decades of NEGLECT .. prior peoples in charge are.
She has a job that encompasses a huge area
Why is all this her fault?
I happen to think alot of her . and well not to many women can get out there and do her job? not really..jmho. but faulting her for the mess over in sulpher springs isnt right.
I mean if we want to make change ...make them. stop pointing fingers and blaming and shaming
who are you to judge?
wake up and stop bitching and do something yourselves.
pam is good person I would so vote for her again but if the woman truely has any brains left in her mind she will not run again you never can please the masses
I am not sure where Sulphur Springs came from, I think they were referring to her wast of tax payers money on the riverwalk. However, personally, I think she has had 4 years to clean up Sulphur Springs and has failed miserably. Instead of spending taxpayer money to clean up the mess of others, she needs to invest in the long term--education! If that does not work, tougher fines, codes and courts! If we keep cleaning up after the violators, they will continue to live the way they do.
