Gang Activity???
From an email in SESH......
............"While watching a Larry King show on gang activity at 2:00 A.M., there was a runner across the bottom of the screen that said Tampa is one of the worst places in the country for gangs. I was shocked! Is that true?"
I am curious about the true answer to this question, which I have posed to our Major. But I am just as interested in the "perception" . So what have you seen, or not seen and what do you think?

Aa collection of gang related headlines
Most of what I've read indicates the majority of the activity is from one of the Latin gangs ie Latin Kings, or MS-13, etc.. in the Town and Country and NW Hillsborough County area and out to the east ie Brandon, Seffner, Plant City. The suburbs seem to becoming the new "hoods" with increasing urban redevelopment.
Town and Country is the worst for gangs. They have a huge population of Asian Gangs running from TnC.
If all the stats we are now seeing come out, how does the mayor and city slant their numbers to say that the city is better, etc. We have seen that we are number 2 for gangs, in the bottom of the list for most dangerous, top 10 dirtiest cities, ranked 25 for least safe city by city-data.com, seems like our mayor needs to take a look at these stats and find ways to improve our standings.
Ask your county commissioners and sherriff about this, not your mayor. The gang issues is primarily a county issue.
One of the reasons I don't shop at mega Mart is the their building and delivery truck are always displaying what looks like gang grafitti to me. That is one of the things we looked for before we bought 3 years ago in SESH. We didn't see much then. There is more, now. Every time i report Mega to code about the grafitti on their side door they sloppily paint it over, and then leave it when it reappears.

As a residence of Hillsborough County for almost 30 years, I have seen gang activity infiltrate this area for about 20 years.
Im a native of southLA.I know what activity is about.
The more its ignored the worse it shall be.
Alot of crime out in Pasco county is related to the gang activity there.
Drugs and guns. People need to know its here.
