Shocking News!

Linda Saul-Sena apparently prodded and electrified Tampa City Council and got them to look again at the issue of electric fences.

Up for a second reading was a plan to "permit electrified fences in industrial districts and in some commercial areas with variance review board approval." She wants more neighbors say in whether a fence should be allowed. She "found agreement on greater oversight from the council or the variance review board when fences are proposed for industrial sites next to neighborhoods."

The only person she did not convince was Shawn Harrison.

I tried to look back in City Council to see what Linda Saul Sena's arguments were back in the October 26 meeting, but I think her part of the discussion must have occurred in a part closed to the public. We will have to hear from someone who attended yesterday's meeting to let us know how she manage to convince City Council to make it harder to get a electric fence.
