Silver Linings

Well fortunately, Susan and I were able to do some Christmas shopping in the neighborhood. We dropped by Silver Linings and found all sorts of neat things. Prices were good. Polish pottery. Buttons by Porphry. Christmas decorations. All sorts of interesting items made here or in other countries.

Silver Linings is in the shops at Hanna and Central. Somewhere I have her hours and will post them. On 12/21 she is having an open house from 4 to 8p to celebrate one year of being in business.

Me too! I bought several very cute items for Christmas and the owners are both nice and helpful.

We also shopped at the antique book store, Karen's Place and the Seminole Heights Antique store (formerly Now and Again). They are great places to find unique gifts. We haven't been in Ysterdaze or the candle shop yet, but we'll hit those up this weekend. Other ways to support the neighborhood businesses and give useful gifts is to ask all the local eating establishments if they sell gift certificates. Same thing with the groomer, vet, mechanic. etc. We may not be Hyde Park, but we have a blooming business district and it beats going to the mall.

Yes, please provide the hours for Silver Linings. Each time I've been by, they've been closed. I'm very interested in shopping there. Also, don't forget to shop at Candles as Art. (no, I'm not the owner).
