Lost Cat

An email:

I live just to the east of 275 on Miami Av. I am just north of Hair Performance. I had an indoor/outdoor male cat I absolutely love. On Thanksgiving day he disappeared and I am afraid someone thought he was a stray and took him. He is a neutered male black and gray tiger stripe who is declawed in the front. We never could keep a collar on him but he always came home when I called him. At most he spent 4 hours outside a day. I am heartbroken and miss him terribly. I am hoping that, if someone took him, they will see the signs I have put up or maybe read this in your blog. Thanks for any help you can give. Sincerely, Kris Lenz

In regards to the garage sale ad. Thank you for removing it. I was in process of commenting to say since it's a community blog you put it to the readers to determine if this was appropriate content. I, for one, would rather this sort of thing be relegated somewhere other than the main blog page.

Woah IFLY. This may be FOR the community,,,,,,,but it was made and is maintained BY an individual and the choice of content is up to him. And of course, the choice to read or not to read is up to YOU!

Kris, is there a photo of your cat that could be posted?

Gee, we had some delicious cat on the grill last night. I certainly hope it wasn't your furry little delight. MEOW!!!

Of course, final determination is David's. But with community contributors, and the claim that the blog is for the neighborhood, it seems the best course would be to ask for input to see what everyone thought, no need to get so defensive.

As for the choice to read or not read, can I choose to not read the blog, of course, but items posted on the main page are rather "in your face" so that is why I suggested relegating them to an optional area. A community online garage sale wouldn't be a bad idea.

Garage sales are more interesting than lost cats are!

I agree that a special section for garage sale items would be a great asset. I am sure lots of people have some very unique items for sale. Maybe we could start a community blog and post a link to this one.

I don't mind if you post garage sales on my blog. After all mine is about what's going on in SH and yard/garage sales is news. So be my guest.

I'm in the camp of voting against any items for sale - that's what the classified are for or the pennysaver or creative loafing.

I log in to read about issues concerning the neighborhood not to buy second hand items that someone has pulled out of their renno.

Posting of a community yard sale is a different direction - that's a community thing.

The only posts I can remember from Angelsil are for things she is trying to sell (Sorry if i'm incorrect) - I really don't consider that to be a contributing blogger - what's the point of extending the honor if she is going to use it for her own personal yard sale space - not much of a COMMUNITY contribution there.

yawn...

This has what to do with the woman's lost cat?

Why are some of you being so mean about her cat? I don't understand, am I missing something? I don't think it's very funny.

Because they are freaking evil little sociopaths, who were ignored as children, and still sleep with rubber sheets, and a night light on.

sesh website offered garage sale and things for sale space and few used it. It is available and if more of you use it it will a great place to see what is for sale in the hood. All of greater SH welcome. Email with pic's if possible to seshads@aol.com. They will be posted the evening of the day received in the email.

Seminole,
Since mine was the last post unrelated to yard sales, I'd guess that I was the straw that brought the dromedary to it's knees. Not exactly sure how you could translate that into being "mean" about the woman's cat.
Somehow a posting about her cat got turned into sniping about trying to sell things on this blog. If I were her and saw the number of posts, I might mistakenly think that someone had some information or condolencses about said missing family member. Instead it's "ha ha, joke's on me, they're arguing about a post about a mixer that has since been deleted and bears absolutely no relevance to the original topic - still don't have my cat".
That kind of bickering in a post about a lost child is crass and out of place. NOTHING in my previous post could or should be translated into disregard for this woman's situation.

That being said, let me be the first person on this blog to offer my empathy to Kris about her concern for her missing cat. I hope that he comes home soon.

I misunderstood your statement. I thought you were yawning at the lost cat as if the cat were unimportant. Please except my apologizes.

s'all good.

Unfortunately inflection doesn't carry over in the written word.

Getting reamed on a blog is a pretty crappy way to start the day. I might shoulda thought about that before picking up my poison pen.

As the offending post was removed and this was the most recent at the time, it seemed the best place to address what's become an oft repeated issue. That is all.

Kris, did you find your cat? I hope so; I know I would be a wreck if mine were lost.

Lol.I find this blog to be truly a wonderful form of entertainment.

There is a lot of talent here .

Did she find her cat?

There are plenty on this side of river for those who might lack one or two.
