Funeral Homes

We have 4 Funeral Homes in Seminole Heights. ( I think)

Adams and Jennings. (Sligh and Nebraska) They describe themselves as "Tampa Bay's oldest family-owned funeral home" It was founded in 1954. " I think the cat on the roof is so great. It was placed placed there by the original builder, John Gennaro.

They seemed to be expanding. I've noticed the clearing of the northern lot next to them and the permit description seems to be another building.

Stacy Adams serves as its president of the Independent Funeral Directors Of Florida Association

Blount Curry (Nebraska and Caracas)

"In 1952, Mr. Blount decided to retire and sold his business to two of his key employees, Henry Hale and Jack Yent, Sr. Three years later, Hale and Yent built Tampa’s first conventional funeral home on Nebraska Avenue. That building now houses the administrative offices and training center for new employees and continuing education classrooms for all personnel."

Blount Curry is part of Stewart Enterprises " which employs "approximately 5,400 employees throughout our funeral homes and cemeteries in 26 states within the United States and Puerto Rico. Our funeral homes and cemeteries are located primarily in the Southern, Western, Mid-Atlantic, and Mid-western states, generally in large metropolitan areas. We are the third largest provider of funeral and cemetery products and services in the death care industry in the United States" The group of Blount Curry Funeral Homes in this area are noted by the Red Rose in the logo. Other funeral homes with different names but part of the same organization carry the same rose. (Boza and Roel for example).

Morning Glory Funeral Chapel (Nebraska and Caracas)
This has got to be the most popular funeral home in Tampa, from the numbers of people I see outside waiting for a service to be held. There is always a funeral there. They held the funeral for the children killed by Jennifer Porter.

Florida Mortuary (Nebraska and Cayuga)

"Florida Mortuary Funeral & Cremation Services began serving the bay area in 1987. . . We are the only funeral home in the city of Tampa with a crematory on-site, giving us the opportunity to completely control the cremation process for our families."
