Kash and Karry to close?

According to an email on the Lowry Park CCA email group, reportedly "the Kash n Karry at Waters & Florida will close forever. What are the folks in the JL Young apartments going to do?"

That was not a very nice store the last time I went into it.

Last I heard, it was going to be a Sweetbay like the others. I've been awaiting the change in the hope that it would get cleaner, but was told that it would be one of the last to convert.

I mostly go to the wonderful little Publix, but occasionally run to KnK (it is closer). Every time I do I wish I hadn't, as it is lacking several brands that I like and the staff seem to wish they weren't there. Usually I get stuck in line behind someone who smells like they haven't bathed recently or have bathed in cheap beer.

That said, it is still good to have around in a pinch. Until recently they were open till 11, which is good for us night owls. Looks like hours have changed and they now close at 9.

My favorite employee (really) is the crabby, leathery alcoholic bagger who we've deemed "Surly Duff". He once thrust our box of brownie mix at us, informing us that we "don't need no god*$%! bag for that!" :)

I suppose they will walk the distance to Walmart Neighborhood Market and push the shopping carts back to thier apartments and abandon them when finished!

Well we all can't take our high horse everywhere we go.

Tell the horse to lay off the doobies and maybe it wouldn't be so high.

Well, we all can't take the high horse, but in our hood, I have been fighting that horse for years. I finally got them to stop dumping them in my yard. You would think if they have the energy to push a full cart home, many with locked wheels, they could at least be respectful enough to return them to the store so the next shopper will have a cart to use.
