Kitsch from the Couch has her encounter with Scientology's stress test.

"but the mitigating factor that made me utter "this is bulls***t" before i tossed this quiz in my shredder had less to do with the underlying tone of mind control and tom cruise and way more to do with the fact that i have a distinct impression that at some point, scientologists around the world are going to be found dead, all wearing the same outfit, clutching an empty cup of kool-aid. and i just don't want to deal with that kind of stress."

Angel Sil discussed why she is strongly against Scientology. She has some good links for more info.

Don't just dismiss them as some wacky religion and we should all get along. Be informed. Read. What if your daughter son or minor sibling walked into their Mission. What personal info do they get about that person and their family?

"My 16 year-old son and two of his friends from Hillsborough High School were whiling away a Saturday in Ybor. The two girls wanted to go into the Scientology Mission to look around. The girls agreed to take the "Free Stress Test". When they did, it turned out that the mission had results of an earlier "stress test" that one of the girls took somewhere. That means, they were keeping records of a potentially damaging and certainly personal nature on a child that was under 15 without any consent from anyone. To me, that's dangerous and could well be abused! Noone should take their "stress test". They keep records.Needless to say, the scientologists told the girl that she was under lots of "stress" and should come back for some of their services (not free). They told this 16 year-old that she really needed their help because she obviously had lots of issues, etc. That's very irresponsible. They are not licensed counselors or anything and they are dealing with minors and no parental consent!"

By renting to the Scientologists, Phil Alessi gives tacit approval to what they do and to their history, just as if he rented to an adult bookstore or a sex club.
