Bed and Breakfast in Seminole heights
Rafe, in the post on hotels said "Seeing stuff like this makes me consider the viability of opening a B&B in the neighborhood. "
Yes,yes, yes! Think of what a great B&B an old 2 story house could be, along the river. Or even not along the river but with a great backyard.

There was an attempt to pass a B&B law in the city to make this sort of thing legal. The Hyde Park residents got upset over the idea their neighbor might make a home into a B&B and scuttled the bill through various means. One of the restrictions they added was that there could be no more than 5 rooms, a manager had to live there, and there had to be off-street parking for one car per room + 1 for the manager.
This made it economically unfeasable the and parking requirement made 99% of the properties too small. The bill died.
B&B's on non-commerical lots are not legal in Seminole Heights.
a B&B is a business. I wouldn't want one to open up next to my house. Do you really think OSHNA would approve of commercial intrusion into the neighborhood?
Linda Saul-Sena is the only politician who supports B&B's in Tampa.
Personally, I think they would make Tampa an even better place.
Anonymous - why wouldn't you want one next door?
because business slides, new owners take over and soon your quant B&B turns into a dump rooming house.
besides would you really want all the additional traffic &parking issues.
