Cable TV to come to Seminole Heights Garden Center and Giddens Park

Apparently as a result of the Cable Franchise Agreement between Verizon and the city of Tampa public buildings are going to be getting cable TV, if that agreement is appproved by City Council. The next hearing on the issue is May 11 at City Council.

" Franchisee shall provide, without charge within the Service Area, one service
outlet, together with all associated equipment necessary for activation, and Basic Service to each fire station, public school, police station, public library, and such other buildings used for governmental purposes. . ."

Not including schools at least 5 buildings in Seminole Heights are affected

American Legion Playground
Seminole Heights Garden Center
Giddens Park
Park's & Recreation's Athletic Office / Gymnastics & Dance (next to American Legion Playground)
Police - Fraternal Order of Police (On Florida Avenue - next to American Legion Hall)

They've been digging up our area for weeks now to put in upgraded cable. Now if we could only get WiFi access in the parks, because I *am* that big of a geek.
