My plumbing secret

Susan and I were visiting her cousin. Her cousin just had a plumber come and charge her $500.00 to get their toilet fixed. However they noticed afterwards that it leaked. She asked me to take a look it. The water was leaking from the where the intake line threads onto to toilet water tank. My solution? Teflon Paste. It seals the threads and makes lubricates them making it easier to hand tighten even more. I never use Teflon tape, as I always have problems using it, having it unwind on me and other issues. Cost?
