Biking on Hillsborough

Southeast Seminole Heights Reident Gena Torres is mentioned in the Trib in the second item in this article "SunPass Can Be A Tad Quick To Pounce"

Two-Wheeled Army

. . . .Now, the county Planning Department's bike-and-pedestrian maven,
Gena Torres, is trying to organize a small but mobile two-wheeled army to
persuade the DOT to swipe a couple of feet from the median and maybe a bit from
each of the travel lanes to create "a continuation of the bike lanes that exist
to the west, on the other [pretty] side of I-275."

She's hoping for a strong turnout of bicycle riders at a meeting the DOT
has scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. April 11 at Seminole Heights Baptist Church, 803
E. Hillsborough Ave., to support the median project and encourage the DOT to
make room for bikes.
