SESH Ice Cream Social

From Mike Ferlita:

To All:

The Board of Directors voted last night to proceed with our plans to sponsor and organize the Ice Cream Social at Giddens Playground. The event was originally considered to commemorate the new interactive fountain at the playground. However, since the fountain completion has been delayed, we have decided to go ahead anyway.

The event will be held at the park's shelter on Sunday, August 20, 2006 sometime between lunch time and dinner. We will confirm the exact time after our first meeting.

The event will be co-chaired by our wonderful Social Committee Chairperson, Jennifer Zapasnik, and me, Mike Ferlita.

We are looking for some volunteers that would be interested in assisting us with the planning and organization of the event. I would like to plan a meeting of the entire group sometime within the next week or so, since we only have about 5 weeks to get it done.

The Ice Cream Social will be geared towards the neighborhood kids and towards those that act like kids. There will be, of course, ice cream (hopefully of the home-made variety), games, activities, music and possibly a clown.

Please contact either me or Jenn if you are interested in participating.

Thank you very much once again for your consideration and generosity.

wow. this is a wonderful idea. Some of the volunteers over in the Southeast area sure go way above and beyond to give back to the community. I congratulate them for setting a great example for all of us. Civic participation and activism really is extremely important and is responsible for getting almost everything done. Thank you again!

12th and Giddens

From Nebraska take Hillsborough Avenue to 12th and 1 block south.

Or Go Nebraska to Giddens (1 block south of Hillsborough) and head 1 block east.
