Tampa Antiquarian Books gets an Upper Story

Good News for Seminole Heights bookies.

Upper Story Books is moving in with Tampa Antiquarian Books. ( I don't know if they plan to have booklets or not.)

Upper Story books owner John P. Shevock was formerly based at the Imperial Book Lodge on Kennedy Blvd. However that store just closed down (for the second time) and so John had a need for new digs.

Enter Steph Beckel, who offered him space at her place.

Upper Story complements the books Steph has. According to the Suncoast Information Specialists newsletter "He owns approximately 4,000 volumes of collectible books with a focus on his interests: modern literary first editions and European history."

He showed me a signed first edition of James Joyce's "Anna Livia Plurabelle" and Ann Rice's "Interview with a Vampire"

John apparently was a civil lawyer for 20 years and has been collecting books for 30 years.
This means we have a book virgin (Steph) paired with a . . . . . . . hmmm . . . . . a . . . . . hmmmm oh yeah . . . a used (book) man.

Read more about John's collecting on page 4 of the SIS newsletter.

By the way, Steph has just bought a house in Old Seminole Heights, not to far from the library. How appropriate.
