Cubed Dog

From Susan:

We bought a new toy to try to keep the ever busy Ella entertained. She had been very good one rainy morning last week while I worked on a home improvement project. So, when I took a break, I unwrapped the new toy and presented it to her. It was one of those interactive things called the IQ Cube. A soft fabric box with holes on each side. Inside the box were four fabric balls with sqeakers inside. Ella looked at the toy, than back at me, like "what's up?" It didn't look like any of her other toys. Sig, our ancient Jack Russell terrier, took one look at it and fell in love. He took out a ball and rolled and squeaked. His back legs are very unsteady at this stage, so he can't use his front paws for holding down things without falling over. In order to get the balls out, he sticks his nose in the cube and grabs a ball, then shakes the box until it falls off his face. It does my heart good to see Sig, almost deaf and blind with signs of dementia and wobbly legs, enjoy himself that much. Needless to say, the toy is now his and Miss Ella got a new tug rope.

Great comment! It is good to keep in touch with the small things. Keeps you grounded. Sometimes we miss them when we are all involved in the "fight".....thanks for the reality check.

We just got one of those for our Corgi. He just loves it. It keeps him and us quite entertained.
