Pops in the Park in East Tampa

Well, a significant event is occuring on May 5 at 7:00 P.M. The Florida Orchestra is performing at the Middleton High School Stadium. Why is this significant? Because East Tampa historically was ignored by the city and everyone else. Look at where look at where the prior concerts were: Lowry Park, Al Lopez Park, Plant Park and the grounds of Grace Episcopal Church in New Tampa. The usual places for these kinds of things. I'm sure City Council Kevin White had a great deal to do with this.

"Among the classics are the Overture to Rossini’s Barber of Seville, the Scherzo movement from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2, the Finale movement of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4, Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance March and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, among other works. The program also includes a medley of Duke Ellington hits, a tribute to the Beach Boys, and music from Star Wars, Fiddler on the Roof and The Sound of Music. "
