S.H.'s Santa Clark

Milam Clark dresses as Santa between 6:30 and 10:30 p.m. outside his house at 6912 N Central Ave. Clark will play Santa through Dec. 24, but the lights and yard display will be up until New Year's Day.

PS - Yeah, I saw that too. Not sure why they posted us in the "North of Tampa" section of the publication.

This story was published on the cover of the City Times section, and inside the North of Tampa section. It's listed under both sections online, including under Tampa as "The Role Suits Him."

They were 1/2 right. Kudos to them on the improvement.

It's my hope that they'll soon realize we are in the city limits of Tampa, not north of it. Then we'll work on informing them we are the BIGGEST neighborhood in the city.

Baby steps.

Meanwhile, I still get that silly "South Tampa" magazine and the Tampa Trib still thinks of us as "South Tampa".

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that central Tampa isn't good for ad revenues and they lump us into some other area that has better revenue as a result. Not being a magazine publisher, I can only guess at why. However I am peeved that the Trib seems determined to redraw the city's cultural map to fit its own needs.

Exactly. Being force-fed a magazine called "South Tampa," is really a slap in the face to people north of Kennedy.

Thank God for New Heights Magazine ;) Look for it the week of Jan. 21 -- and if anyone wants to subscribe, visit www.NewHeightsMag.com.

Greg and I drove by this house early December. I spoke with a woman who was decorating and she said they begin to put up decorations after Halloween!!!!! The decorations aren't "my style" but I really love just how into the season these people are. I noticed a little girl playing while her Mother spoke with me. Can you imagine being a child in that kind of wonderland. Oh the memories that little girl will have. I also noticed that the home isn't neccessarily the most expensive home on Central ave. I wonder how high their electric bill is after running that kind of show for a month. Next year, they should put out a clothes line so that people can pin up money to aid in the Electric bill. That's what some people used to do in Austin, TX. A whole street of people would decorate in funky ways and string all of their lights together. On-lookers would go through the "trails" made by the home owners and there would be clothes lines with money pinned through the display, normally by the Electric meter, which was spinning like mad.
