Crime Prevention Issues

As I posted before, as part of living in an urban neighborhood, crime is an issue and needs to be managed.

The following 2 items can help deal with or prevent crime.

1. Suwanne Heights Neighborhood Watch

If you live in Grid 58:

Join the Suwanee Heights Neighborhood Watch

We need your help to keep our neighborhood safe!

Neighborhood Watch allows the Police Department and neighbors to work together to reduce crime and resolve problems together in our neighbohood.

Do you know your neighbors?

Please attend our meeting and bring your concerns and we can work together to make a difference!

Topic: Introduction To Neighborhood Watch

Learn about the various services that the Tampa Police Department offers. A member of the TPD will be on hand to answer questions on crime prevention and community concerns.

2. Truancy Intake Center

Juveniles roaming the streets during school hours could be potential home/auto burglars!

The Truancy Intake Center is open for truants as of August 4, 2005 for the 2005/2006 Hillsborough County School year.

Hours of operation are: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am until 4:00 pm.

The Truancy Intake Center can be reached at: (813) 975-2018.

If you are aware of a juvenile(s) that is not attending school or possibly "skipping" school, please call our center to report the youth. You may remain anonymous.

The Truancy Intake Center appreciates citizen involvement investing their time in our youth.
