My wife and I moved to Seminole Heights in 2004 and have loved every second of it. For any of your blog viewers who are curious, I thought I'd forward the Tampa Trib's Classifieds commercial that takes place in Seminole Heights to you. The commercial was filmed at our house on E Jean St back in early November and both the house and our dog are featured prominently. It was pretty fun as TPD closed the street for about 6 hours and 2 big trucks of cameras, lighting, etc. came in.
It's been airing since December in 15- & 30-second spots throughout the day, from the morning news to American Idol and was filmed/edited by Seminole Heights' own Gordon and Denise of Grown Man Films.
Anyway, a lot of people seem curious about where "that house with the red door" is, so I thought I'd let you know.

That "Trib" house has been a mystery to me also. Great ad and everyone that lives here knows that is a typical bungalow for the neighborhood. I for one would not want to be that bird being whipped around in that cage the seller is carrying!
An intersting side note - the manager for advertising for the Trib lived in Seminole Heights up until about a year ago when she and her husband moved to Lutz for a bigger house to raise their family in - unfortunately. There is also a print ad featuring a house painting project on a bungalow in Seminole Hts. So there may be some truth in both of those ads!
werent they filiming this ad about the time the news eds were killing off the central tampa edition? duh.
there was another commercial filmed recently in Seminole Heights at 323 W. Fern St. It is currently being played on Channel 8. It is an anti-drug PSA. The commerical ends with two kids next to a sign that says "....we smoke pot.." The point of the commercial is "the signs are not always this obivious"
We've called that place 'The Man Store' for the 2 years we've lived a block or so away. Always wondered what the hell was going on there.
Yeah, I think I wondered if it wasa bath house or something. It seems so mysterious.
