More on Karate School.

Michale Canning did a blurb on the new karate school.

"Armed with a Bible and a black belt, Cintron is both a martial arts instructor and self-fashioned missionary. And like a missionary, he's expanding his operations and preparing to open a second location of his Tampa Bay Tang Soo Do Karate school.
The new dojo, at 4707 N Nebraska Ave., isn't far from the original at Hillsborough and Rome avenues, next door to Cintron's church, Bethel Assembly of God. "But something has kind of chased me there," Cintron said of the new Southeast Seminole Heights location. He's excited about the area's urban renewal, he said. "I want to be a part of that," he said.

The karate schools are a family affair. Cintron's wife, Molly Cintron, runs the afterschool pick-up program for the children who make up a large portion of the clientele. Willie Cintron's adult daughters from a previous marriage, Venia Cintron and Christina Amezquita, are black belts and help with the karate instruction.
Willie Cintron, 48, has studied Tang Soo Do karate for 32 years and holds black belts from three different Tang Soo Do associations. The New York City native said he had a tough childhood, growing up with his siblings in a single-parent home and dropping out of high school."

Cintron expects to open the new Nebraska location Feb. 1. The Cintrons can be reached at (813) 426-2356.
