Seminole Heights Library Hosts the Pyramid Gallery Arts Show
The Seminole Heights Library is pleased to host an exhbition of work from the artists of the Pyramid Gallery. The month long show will have an opening reception on May 20th at 11:00 AM.
This show allows the public to see art in a non-typical art location.
In March the Pyramid Gallery presented Tilt of the Iris - A Spring Art Exhibit of recent works. Exhibiting artists from that show are Lee Artis Hendry, Joe Baker, Jeffrey Pierre, George Santiago, Eric Nelson, Luis Santos, Demetrious Gardner and Brian Kazimer. "Pyramid artists continue to meet the challenge of producing works so their audience can view the world as they do — from the tilt of their own iris."
That exhibit will remain on display through May 19 in their Sligh Avenue location.
Local area artists often collaborate with the Pyramid Gallery resident artists. In February, Advisory Board member Petra Sussman and husband Joshua, brought brought Pat Ockert with the Florida Orchestra and all of her musical instruments to the Pyramid Gallery for a morning of musical exploration. Two University of Tampa sculptors, Gil De Maza and Kendra Hamilton, are collaborating with Lee Artis Hendry in getting his wood and wire miniature sculpture to full-size proportions. Guest artists Mike Massaro and Carl Cowden recently exhibited some if their pieces and also lectured about their work.
The Pyramid Gallery is located at 1508 W. Sligh Avenue (phone 931-3986.) Contact Bob Terri for more information.
If you would like to help with the hosting of the show please contact Tina Russo at the Seminole Heights Library at 272-5558 or email her.
