More Graffitti Vandalism

From an email:

"I spoke with a police officer in front of my house this a.m. He told me five houses were vandalized on my street last night. It was graffiti on garages, walls and cars. If it was my street last night it could be somebody else tomorrow."

The emailer lives in the 3oo Block of W. Fern St. by Epps Park. Just FYI."

I have seen more graffitti in last few months than anytime in my 6 years here. I wonder if the art graffitti encouraged the vandalism graffiti?

  1. Good gosh, roosters, graffitti, murders, and a robbery. I guess this is the original SH that those opposed to us yuppies moving in want to keep for future generations to know and love.

  2. I've seen an upswing of graffiti also in Tampa Heights. On fences in alleys, on fences in front yards (a few that just look like someone walked down the yard with the can in a straight line) and on a few cars.

  3. when you call in a situation like this make sure that you ask for an event number - that way the call is logged into the dispatch system and a car will be sent - not necessarily timely but one will be dispatched to follow up on the car. Have your neigborhood assoc work with the major over your district to start cracking down on the graffitti.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

Throw in the used car lots and I can see why so many are sentimental about the old days in Seminole Heights

I live near Fern Street and if I see thugs vandalizing my house somebody is going to get beat down with a baseball bat and it won't be me.

  5. Fern Street vandalism update.

The police have the perp. Apparently, it was a 13-year-old kid with a long rap sheet.

Lisa (don't know her last name), the officer who coordinates District 2's Neighborhood Watch program, said the kid will probably go to juvenile hall for this latest episode.

She said the kid lives in the neighborhood but couldn't give details because of his age.

By the way, Lisa is very friendly, prompt and professional. I highly recommend folks who live in Seminole Heights and are concerned about crime should get to know her.

    Lisa's work number is (813) 931-6541
