Curiousity

I walk past this place at south end of Rivercrest Park. I often wonder what the building originally was used for. It is sad to see it in such disrepair. The roof have caved on the other side. Posted by Picasa

  1. Having been on the property a few years back, I talked with the owner. It is set up like an old carriage house/guest house. The house was in much better shape. I believe that owner sold it a year or two after I spoke with him. I believe he sold it to a friend of former councilman Bob Buckhorn. It is a shame the out buildings are still in such disrepair.

The property is a bit much for the neighborhood but next door in what is now part of Rivercrest Park was and old "TB" hospital in the early 20th century according to an old neighbor. Before that is was part of one of 6 dairies that were located pre-WWI in the area between the river and Central and Osborne and Buffalo (now MLK)
