Randy Baron's Victory Party

Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Come one come all To Randy Baron's Victory Party Tuesday nite at 8 - ??? at the Front Porch. Cash Bar and free pizza.

Everyone is welcome.

Have you voted yet? Only a few days left.

Because this is a boring minor election to many people (it's only the City of Tampa, not the Presidential race) a lot of people will not vote. However these are the people who have the first impact on your life. Crime, potholes, sewage, code enforcement etc, etc, etc are the issues the people in this City Council race will deal with. If you don't vote, you get what you did not vote for.

I have voted in every election I was eligible to vote in since I turned 18, even when I was overseas. The amazing thing is how easy it is to vote now. You can vote two weeks in advance at a variety of locations. When I voted for this election, I took off a few minute early from work and drove to the College Hill Library. It only took me 5 minutes to vote. 5 minutes. Simple and easy.

Compare this to elections in other countries, where you are not allowed to vote (because you are a woman) or you have to risk your life to vote because of armed gunmen, or where you have to wait for hours in long lines.

5 minutes. It takes longer to smoke a cigarette (or a joint).

Vote. It does a City good.

I often wonder, what it would be like if the Government kept track of those who voted and those who did not. What if you called to complain about a problem, the goverment person responded. "Sorry, Sir/Madam. You did not vote so we will not listen to your complaint".

  3. ON TUESDAY, IF EVERYONE WILL VOTE FOR ANOTHER MAYORIAL CANDIDATE, OTHER THAN IORIO, WE CAN SEND A MESSAGE TO CITY HALL. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME IORIO WAS IN THE HOOD, WHAT WAS THE LAST THING SHE DID FOR THE HOOD. WHILE SHE IS A SHOE IN FOR RE-ELECTION, I THINK IF WE MADE SURE THE GAP WASN'T SO BIG, IT WOULD SEND A MESSAGE THAT WE ARE GOING TO DEMAND MORE THAN HALF BUILT PARKS THROUGHOUT OUR CITY!

  6. Count me in. I am voting for GREEN FOR MAYOR. Wouldn't it be great if Iorio gets less than 75% votes.

  8. I was curious if anyone noticed that $35,763 (last two reports) of Gwen Millers war chest was spent with Janet Rifkin - and marked as Printing. I don't believe Janet is a printer, but a campaign fundraiser for the Democrats - host to many a fundraiser at her home. Wife of Dr. Steve Rifkin. I don't doubt that some of this may have gone to printing - but these kind of expenditures should be itemized... what printer? - how much was Rifkin paid for her services?

During this latest income report - there was a surge in donations from many corners of Florida - especially Miami... and Boston. The democratic machine in full force - I doubt if many of these out-of-town contributors have even met Mrs. Miller.

  9. In looking at the campaign contributions did anyone notice that the fireworks' companies gave the max $$ amount to the incumbents?

  10. Who is Janet Rifkin, what does she do except print and why did it cost Ms. Miller $30,724.00 in advertising in less than a month?

Am I missing something or am I in the wrong business?

  11. of course they did.....that way city council can approve their "transport" of the semi loads of storage they have on site. When one blows up because of an out of control car hitting it then they will feign ignorance.

  14. I always gather several up and spray paint them a background color and then spray paint "Yard Sale" on them.
