Governor Charlie Crist

Well, Charlie Crist is already turning out to be an interesting governor.  He aint't no Jeb Bush and thank goodness.
It looks like he might have to take on Associated Industries, the biggest business organization in Florida to deal with property taxes and property insurance rates.  Open government looks to be back, after an assault on it by  devious plans silver spoon Jeb (and George)

As I watch Florida in Review moderator, Rob Lorie asked if Crist was  new Republican.  I think he is an old style Republican, the good ones, the moderate ones.

Although Crist praises Bush's legacy, I suspect some of his legacy is going to be repealed by Crist. What I found especially interesting is Crist's choice of former Attorney General Bob Butterworth to head the Department of Children and Families. This coupled with Alex Sink's plan to review privatization, makes me think there are going to significant changes in certain aspects of DCF.  I predict the Bush privatization effort of Protective Services/Foster Care will be reversed.

I also think the Jeb's legacy/reputation is going to get dimished/tarnished as more light is shed on it. He is not as good as people think.

The TBT has raised a  great editorial for Crist to chew on. Increase tax on cigarettes.  It is one of the lowest in the country.

You mean like Reagan? or Nixon? You might have to reach back to Eisenhower to find that. Lest you forget Crist supported the military industrial stolen election coup of 2000 and was in the epicenter of that mess (check out Crist's quotes from the UNPRECEDENTED documentary) so his hands are pretty bloody already. I know you're an optimist, but you can't really dis the neocons and go on to support Crist. He helped them dig the hole we're in. Arguably, his best quality is his sexual orientation.

    Love Kelly
