It is not a rumor any longer! We are getting a new restaurant! The for sale sign just came down off of the property on the SE corner of Shadowlawn and Nebraska. A lovely lady named Melissa is opening a new restaurant. Her significant other is a Chef! The food is to be tasty and eclectic and the decor is found object based. The name: Ellas! Could I be any happier?
And good news, there are only minimal parking issues!
When more info is available, look for it here as time goes by.
Sounds like everyone wants to move to SESH.
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing good things about your neighborhood.
Maybe its time to move.
Don't know where you live, and I admit I am partial to SESH, but all of Seminole Heights is the bomb and getting better every day!
ReplyDeleteI drove down nebraska the other day and didnt even recognize it from what it used to be.
ReplyDeleteSo much new construction.
What the he!! happened?
Hookers need a place to eat too don't cha know
ReplyDeleteThere aint no hookin here...
ReplyDeleteThere aint no hookin there..
There may be hookin on Florida and Hills but there aint no hookin here..
Cue advantix commercial music..
Has anyone driven down Nebraska Ave from Hillsborough to MLK lately? It looks really nice!! New business, new construction, beautiful rehabs. It really is the nicest public thoroughfare in all of Seminole Heights. Now that the hookers are gone, maybe people will start changing their attitudes about Nebraska. You can eat at Martha's, el Taconazo, Seminole Heights Bakery and the new Ella's. All in Southeast Seminole Heights!! Those guys have worked their asses off for years over there. They are now seeing the fruits of their work!! Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteAno 7:36
ReplyDeleteYou're just getting used to your surroundings.
Also, the hookers are still there.
They are here, but they are far less and definitely are under fire by the hood and by TPD.
ReplyDeleteAnd things are much better on Nebraska. In and out of SESH!
So anon, 10:04 if you live here, lighten up. If you don't, thank goodness!
I think commercial development is the best way to move them along. When we start utilizing our corridors they will not want to stay!
ReplyDeleteYes, active commercial cooridors often (but not always--see Kennedy Blvd) discourage prostitution. However, this is a chicken-and-egg sorta thing. Who wants to risk opening a business in a blighted area if there is prostitution?
ReplyDeleteAlso, local street prostitution is something the neighbors can take a direct roll in fixing. The other obstacles facing revitalization in the area require help from city government which tends to move at a snail's pace.
Shawn you are soooooo HOT!
ReplyDeleteEspecially in those tighty whities..
ReplyDeleteCan anyone say shizzam...
Hello!
Come to granddaddy!
Last time I looked SESH wasnt so blighted anymore.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a new country.
How are the city services there?
There are still plenty of hookers on Nebraska. It's still the worse area of Tampa. Get your rose colored glasses of SESH. Greg's hooker patrol has not totally eradicated hookers, nor crack cocaine, on Nebraska. Still looks like a 3rd world country.
ReplyDeleteWell it is not Greg's hooker patrol. He is one of them. SESH has it's own patrol.
ReplyDeleteAnd we don't use rose colored glasses. We just are out there all the time and see the difference. And guess what? SESH is NOT the worst area of Tampa.
One thing good about it is you probably don't live there and if you do MOVE THE HECK OUT! Move to the burbs where everything is beautiful and new.
Completely off topic, but does anyone know what kind of food this place is going to serve?
ReplyDeleteI agree the residential area is not blighted. However, the commercial area is still pretty sketchy.
ReplyDeleteActually anon 6:52 YOU are right on topic! I understand it is to be like the place, a bit eclectic. It promises to be creative, and tasty and I am told the check at the end will also be easy to swallow.
ReplyDeleteLet's beg her for a menu asap! I hope they spend money/engergy to fix the place up correctly. Actually have atmosphere. If you have ever been to Circles in S Tampa. IT is awesome, atmosphere and food. (And of course drink)
ReplyDeleteSESH is definitely not the worst area of Tampa. BUT, barely a day goes by when I don't see a hooker or have some guy wander into my yard to ask for spare change. We have a LONG way to go before I would allow my elderly mother or pregnant daughter to move here.
ReplyDeleteand when you see the hooker do you call them in to the police???
ReplyDeleteIf you want positive change you have to make it happen!
