Hillsborough County is famous for its two Normans.
There is Storming Norman, who succesfully led our American troops against the Saddam Hussein
Then there is $pending Norman, who leds the charge in support of the moneyed interests. $1,000,000 for the County to take over a State responsibility of a noise wall for affluent Chevaliers, $40,000,000 for a sport complex (rumors are the ultimate cost to be over $200,000,000) and cuts $500,000 away from defenseless domestic violence victims.
I believe our present situation shows "Storming Norman" wasn't all that successful.
ReplyDeleteStorming Norman performed his job competently within the scope he was directed. Fast forward twelve years, a different administration and military commanders and you have the cluster-f!@k we call Iraq today.
ReplyDeleteYeah, ask the Kurds about the no-fly zone Schwartzkopf negotiatied with Saddam.
ReplyDeleteOl' Storming Norman didn't think about including helicopters. Nice move which gave Iraq the upper hand and assured the Kurdish insurrection would be put down.
If Schwartzy had thought of all this, and considering his "brilliant military mind" and all you think he might, Saddam would have been tossed years ago after the Bush family's first go round over there.
But don't let history get in the way of crowning another U.S. military hero.
Most of the people who bitch about the military have never served! Stop whining and make a difference!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Jim Norman is going back!
ReplyDeleteWhat is worse is how retarded can those in East Hillsborough be to send Rhonda Storms to Tallahassee. What an embarassment to the Tampa Bay Area.
GOOD LORD! I SO CONCUR
ReplyDeleteStorms in Tally.
Also those who have never served should learn to shut the hell up about the miitary persons who allow those who havent live here freely.
