"While I provide treatments using Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, I also feel that providing a soothing space where you feel apart from the rest of the world is vital as well... We all need time to nourish our connection to what is important to us... Aromatherapy and Reflexology are also part of all treatments and usually deepen most people's relaxation and therapy... Since August 2002 I have assisted people's self-healing in the relief of numerous ailments, such as...Migraines and Headaches Anxiety Depression Sciatica Allergies Menopause Asthma Low Back Pain Neck Pain Irritable Bowels Insomnia PMS and Painful Periods Infertility Endometriosis Arthritis Digestive Issues Rehabiliation, especially after Surgery..and it goes on... unless you need emergency medicine, you should be looking at alternatives..."
Thank you David! Such a pleasant surprise indeed! Obviously you have strong feelings about supporting this area and I'm thrilled to have found a forum for a community that really gets the idea of the word. We're all just people and our interconnectedness is a resource and a blessing. Anyone one interested in what I do should feel free to contact me at 813-892-6909. I saw a sign the other day that summed it up perfectly for me - I love to help. I need to give.

Becky,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the neighborhood and good luck!
Clarification: The State of Florida lists her license as LICENSED ACUPUNCTURIST. Physician is not part of it! Finally SH has a licensed QUACK!
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous Person,
ReplyDeleteThe State of Florida actually uses both designations - L.Ac. for Licensed Acupuncturist AND A.P. for Acupuncture Physician. It is regrettable that the confusion of having both titles results in mistaken judgements. I have no idea what a quack means to you but the State of Florida apparently feels that my National Certification and Master's Degree in a thousands of years old system of health care is sufficient evidence of my qualifications. I ask you, anonymous person, to stop by, talk to me, and with an open mind, perhaps learn something new.

Becky's degree is from a well-respected school of Chinese Medicine. I would prefer to go to her than an MD who took a 6 week course in acupuncture to get the license and to keep us from going to someone who really understands Chinese Medicine.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bungalowlady! You make an excellent point in that many states allow MD's and Chiropractors to perform what I call "cookbook" acupuncture. They take a couple weekend class and learn a handful of points to use when presented with specific problems. While this may work in an immediate sense, you are definitely not benefitting from the same knowledge that someone who studied Chinese Medicine for 4 years has received. Not to mention the experience that comes from actually practicing this form of medicine, solely, in a clinic for another 4 years.
