This was the original Seminole Heights blog with commentary about life in and around the urban neighborhood of Seminole Heights in Tampa, Florida. Musings about other topics as my mood permits. The blog is essentially inactive since I moved to Lutz. Go to The Official Unofficial Seminole Heights Blog - www.seminoleheightsblog.com for active content.
from what i understand, the owners of the building are divorcing and the building is part of their negotiations. they gave Milton a small window of time to move, so he found a place in ybor where rent is about the same.
(sorry to mention someone else's personal business (the owners)but i couldn't think of how else to phrase it without the vagueness sounding worse than it actually is).
not sure if all the businesses must find new locations - they might only have plans for the Now & Again space.
All right you guys - cool your jets. Never fear...new ownership is near! There was a difference of opinion and something had to give. The antique mall will be around serving the Seminole heights community as it has for the last 6 years, and our desire is to make it better than ever. We wish Milton the best and hope that his new location in Ybor is a great success, just as we would hope that he wishes the same of us.
The antique and collectables shop and the majority of the dealers are staying. Milton is leaving due to a conflict with the owner of the building. Michael's temporary absence due to illness and chemotherapy treatments made it clear that some people are meant to manage and some are not. You fill in the blanks! This too shall pass, but the shop will remain with a fresh attitude and many goodies to see and buy.
After Milton's restaurant debacle, is anyone really surprised? Anyone else notice that when Starbuck's was iminently opening Milton's restaurant mysteriously closed their doors? So, when Karen's place expanded into what used to be Ashley's on the Avenue, is it really any wonder that Milton is leaving the antique mall? Looks like he just can't handle good competition.
Can someone tell me where this store is. I'm looking for a few old things??

ReplyDeleteSad to see Milton go, he is such a nice guy. Maybe they will jam in a Panera with the loss of the two shop fronts.
ReplyDeleteI hear that it will remain an antique store. Milton as owner will leave, but the dealers will stay with new management.
