This was the original Seminole Heights blog with commentary about life in and around the urban neighborhood of Seminole Heights in Tampa, Florida. Musings about other topics as my mood permits. The blog is essentially inactive since I moved to Lutz. Go to The Official Unofficial Seminole Heights Blog - www.seminoleheightsblog.com for active content.
What a coincidence - I am pretty sure I saw this guy with his wife yesterday evening at the mall. I remember because they were so nicely dressed. Will be sure to learn more about where he stands on important issues. Sadly I have not been keeping up lately.
Hey Scottt, You're pumping up Kevin quite a bit, but have you given much time or thought to the campaign of Chloe Coney, an amazing activist with a heart of gold running for the same seat?? She is my choice for the Commission hands down...an incredible woman with integrity and conviction...check out her sie at http://chloeconey.com/
I LOVE CHLOE CONEY!!!! I invite all of SESH and all of Greater SH to check her out. Don't just be pressured by our neighbor, Mr. White, to put one of his signs up in your yard. Consider ALL of your options.
What can I say? The selection, as usual, for this commission seat sucks! How many offices can Ken Anthony run for and not get elected? Who the hell is Dorothy Admire? And personally I don't care how many hats you have; sorry to inform Chloe Coney it is not a fashion show. As to Kevin White, my recommendation before pursuing a doctorate or a more visible office--hire a better proof reader, speech writer or spend some time in college English class-that web page would flunk the FCAT.
Anonymous, we happen to LOVE Mr. White and his family. I feel proud to have him as our representative. As for my partner and I, we don't believe for one minute Mr. White pressured anyone to put a sign up, we see them all over town. If we were'nt interested we would have just said NO. With Mr. White our neighborhood has true representation and someone we can communicate with. I know first hand as we've stopped him in his front yard to discuss issues. I don't know and frankly don't want to know the hat lady, and have never heard of the other candidates. We have a proven comodity in Mr. White. So with all that being said, GO KEVIN GO, we're behind you and by the way put up some more signs.
What has Kevin done for our community? ...BEFORE he started running for commissioner? Just curious... Didn't he leave the police force due to some type of scandal?
I feelKevin has been a good stuard of our neighborhood. I know Kevin supported the funding for the Giddens Park renovations. I was at the council meeting when he fought to help us get the Starbucks that we now enjoy in our neighborrhood. Kevin and his wife supported our neighborhood fundraiseing efforts by graciously opening up their home for the tour of homes. Just in case you missed council meeting last thursday night when our neighbors Old Seminole Heights, had a very contentious zoning hearing Kevin was right there supporting the neighborhood. That's the kind of leadership I look for, and thats why I support Kevin.
I also remember being shocked and surprised all at the same time when Kevin appeared at some of our neighborhoods exercise club walks; you do remember those don't you? Those were the good old days when we would get our excercise while we attempted to rid our neighborhood of crime and prostitution at the same time. Kevin was there for us, I don't remember seeing any of the others, this was before he became our neighbor and was also prior to his election.
While out on our patrols all of the TPD officers that we run into who know Kevin speak very highly of him.
If memory serves me correctly TPD enthusiastically endorsed Kevin's candidacy for city council, I think that speaks volumes.
We do not need another of Ralph Hughes' puppets on our county commission. I really hope that the voters of District Three are wiser that that. Either other choice is better.
I understand that this guy Kevin White, as reported on channel 10 news this morning, has been using campaign funds for his personal use. In that he has purchased suits with campaign funds. I wonder what else he has been doing with taxpayers money?
Chloe Coney said "I'm new to this you Know". Well Chloe, all it requires is that you be honest and follow the rules. Your only allowed a maximium cash contribution of $100.00 from private citzens!
Obviously you don't contribute to campaigns, because all funds are private contributions and are not tax payers dollars. But you have to admit he looks good in those suits, and represents us well. By the way they were'nt paid for by non-profit organizations especially the hat ladys husbands church.
Kevin is an empty suit. He was a dirty cop and was fired from TPD. He can't ever work as a police officer ANYWHERE again - City or County. Kevin has continued his dirty tricks throughout his reign on City Council. Continue to read the newspapers. It ain't over til the fat lady sings.
I agree with you, Kevin, Anon 1:14 should back up his allegations if he has some kind of proof. I am troubled, though, by the fact that your web site mentions nothing about service awards, promotions, or accomplishments for the time that you say that you spent serving us. I would think that if your service was truly exemplary you would mention some of your accomplishments in the Navy, TPD, and HCSO. How long did you serve in these organizations? When did you serve? Toot your own horn a little! Fill us in.
You also list an impressive number of college degrees. Do you have any academic honors or awards? Are you still enrolled in a PhD program? How did you get a BA in one year?
"White, a finance director for a St. Petersburg car dealership, worked as a Tampa police officer until 1994. He quit the force after an investigation concluded he wrongfully initiated a police chase that left a bystander badly injured." - from St. Petersburg Times, published March 26, 2003
Can you believe this dirty cop, illegal campaign suit buying, lying about CTA endorsement crook actually won the Co Com District 3 seat? People get just what they deserve.
I don't mean to be a stickler, but someone ought to have proof read the last sentence in Kevin's statement for correct punctuation.

ReplyDeleteKevin White by default! Slim pickings folks!

ReplyDeleteWhat might that have been?

Better hire that proof reader, Kevin.
ReplyDeleteWho the hell is Dorthy Admire? The great whit hope, that's all.
ReplyDeleteDon't you mean the Great White Hope?
ReplyDelete"Hang your hat on Chloe Coney" is so phony. Just like “I brought 30 million dollars to East Tampa" by myself.
ReplyDeleteThat is why we say "Place your vote for Kevin White a person with more commitment than a "hat trick" to get things done right"
We do not need another of Ralph Hughes' puppets on our county commission. I really hope that the voters of District Three are wiser that that. Either other choice is better.
