Last City election cycle the three associations got together and held a candidate forum where questions where asked of the candidates for office.
Will this occur for the candidates for County Commission?
The questions were asked by the moderator from the neighborhood based on questions collected before hand by the associations.
If this were to occur what questions would you ask of the candidates?
One of mine would would be whether they would support a Pinellas County style restriction on fireworks.
I would love to see this happen. OSH has discussed the possibility. I think it's informative for everyone. Can we squeeze one in after summer and before elections?
ReplyDeleteAnd, I have no idea what questions I'd ask. I'll have to ponder that if I get a chance to submit one.
Come on you three Presidents, put one together.
One of the candidates collected $1000 in campaign contributions from two fireworks companies:

ReplyDeleteIf anything like this does get organized, could whomever organizes this NOT hold it in a church? Or, at the very least, choose a church that doesn't actively fight equal rights for your gay and lesbian neighbors?
ReplyDeleteThe Methodist church, for example, is involed in the "reparative therapy" movement that believes homosexuality is a curable disease.
Give it a rest about the church bit. There are more welcoming Methodist than any other denomination other than the United Church of Christ.
ReplyDeleteMaybe instead of complaining about the church you can suggest another forum that pleases you?
