From our neighbor:
"As many of you know our son was wounded in action on April 24. After surgeries in Balad and Germany and then a short stay at Walter Reed and Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital I was able to bring our son home on Friday. He is doing fantastic and will have a complete recovery. His major injuries were to his hands, mainly the right hand. He had pins placed in it because the bone had been destroyed. He is currently home for 30 days convelesant leave and will return to Lejeune to the Wounded Warriors barricks in early June. We are praying for a complete recovery, but will only know the full extent of his injuries when the pins are taken out and they see how badly the nerves were damaged. He will be awarded the Purple Heart upon his return to Camp Lejeune. We are so very proud of him and happy to have him back home safe. PLEASE keep his unit, and all our military, in your thoughts and prayers as this has been an extremely hard deployment. Adam's two best friends/roommates were KIA in early April also and the unit has sufffered more loss/injuries since then. Thanks to everyone for your emails, calls, support and friendship, it is greatly appreciated. A special thanks to Elizabeth Campbell who came to the house to re-dress his wounds the first day we were home. It's great to have such a caring neighborhood!
If anyone is interested in ways to help support our troops please feel free to contact me"

From a story on Cyd and Adam. “When you're hugging your kid for the last time and he's going get on that plane you don't know if that's going to be the last hug you get. As a mom you take a real deep breath and you take in that smell you've known since the day you held him when he was born and you hope it never leaves just in case it's your last time.”
